Weekend Architecture Camp at Arrington Watkins Architects

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 5TH AND AND SUNDAY NOVEMBER 6TH, 2016

The camp is taught by Architects and consists of 3 lessons, a tour of Taliesin West including the on-site shelters, and a model building session where students will design a personal structure that provides shelter from the elements as well as physical and emotional comfort. 

At the camp students will gain an understanding of how the built environment directly affects their own well-being and that of the natural environment. Students will design a personal structure that provides shelter from the elements as well as physical and emotional comfort. They will demonstrate an understanding of sun angles, orientation, scale, as well as spatial and emotional needs. 


CAMP INFORMATION

Cost  |  $45, includes transportation between Arrington Watkins Architects and Taliesin West, lunch on both Saturday and Sunday, morning snack, and model making supplies.  A workbook will also be provided to complete in-class activities.

Age  |   Students in 4th to 6th grade. 

Saturday |   Students are required to bring water, a hat and wear closed-toe shoes for the tour.

Sunday  |  Student should bring recycled materials such as cardboard, clean plastic bottles,egg cartons, etc to build their shelters with.  Some materials will be provided.
